By now you’ve seen the many videos of Busta Rhymes falling off stage during his performance of “Coco” with O.T. Genasis. The video, which has now gone viral, warranted enough of an explanation that Bussa Bus had to stop by Miami’s 99 Jamz to discuss it with host Felisha Monet. “I live this rockstar thing,” Busta explained. “We never want to fall off the stage intentionally, but it comes with the territory when you’re all about performing, when you’re really about giving that energy to the people, when you’re really about loving what you do. I love everything that I do. I put everything into it to the maximum level.”
As far as the cause of the fall, no Busta didn’t faint. He says, “I was just so into the moment and I was standing on the edge of the stage. We all got to head banging like we’re rock stars in a heavy metal video. I was standing at the edge of the stage and I took one step forward and it was no stage left. I banged my head downward and the weight from me banging my head downward threw my body forward. I fell off the stage, caught a nice little scratch on the top of my head, a little blood shed.”
Busta definitely wants you to know that he wasn’t seriously injured. He even hit up another party afterwords and turned up again.
