Busta Rhymes is facing serious accusations from his former assistant, who says working for the rap icon was nothing short of abuse.
Dashiel Gables, who began working for Busta in 2024 for $200 a day, has filed a lawsuit claiming the legendary MC created a toxic and dangerous work environment. Gables alleges he was regularly screamed at, spit on, and forced to work brutal 18-hour shifts without overtime.
The breaking point reportedly came in January 2025, when Gables says a disagreement in the lobby of Busta’s Brooklyn residence turned physical. After ignoring a phone call from his daughter and texting her back instead, Gables claims Busta became enraged and punched him in the face twice, sending him to the hospital.
Gables later filed a police report and says he’s been iced out of the music industry ever since. His lawsuit accuses Busta of assault, battery, wage theft, and emotional distress, and he’s seeking damages for lost future earnings.
Busta Rhymes is calling foul. In a statement, he strongly denied the claims, saying Gables was only with him for a short time and is now trying to damage his reputation after being let go. The rapper says he’s preparing a countersuit and is confident the truth will come out.
This all comes on the heels of major wins for Busta, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a role in the new Naked Gun reboot. But with these new allegations hitting hard, the timing couldn’t be worse.
As the legal drama unfolds, both sides are preparing for a fight. Gables has a press conference lined up in Brooklyn, while Busta’s team is lawyering up for what could become a very public courtroom showdown.
