On Wednesday, Caitlyn Jenner spoke with Andy Cohen to promote and divulge the details of her new memoir, “The Secrets of My Life,” in which she discusses pasts relationships, her transition and the reception she received afterwards.
In the interview, the two discuss a conversation Jenner had with her ex-wife’s ex-husband, Robert Kardashian. The conversation took place after the Trial of the Century, just after Kardashian helped Johnny Cochran convince the jury that O.J. Simpson did not kill Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. However, despite Simpson’s acquittal, Jenner believes otherwise.
“I knew he did it,” Jenner told Cohen. “There was three people at the crime scene: DNA evidence, three people at the crime scene,” she said, referring to Simpson, Brown and Goldman. “Pick a murderer. How hard is that?”
“Kris was on my side,” Jenner added, as Brown and Kris were close friends prior to her murder, just as Kardashian and Simpson were. “After the whole thing was over Robert just said to me, ‘I would have been OK if they got him the first trial.’ That’s the only thing he ever said and that’s about the closest he’ll ever come, (while) never saying he actually did it,” she revealed.
“He was now the guy who helped him get away with murder and he was destroyed by everybody,” Jenner said of Kardashian. “And I felt terribly sorry for him.”
Jenner went on to describe the relationship Kardashian had with his family, prior to his divorce from Kris in 1991 and his passing in 2003. However, she said, the verdict in 1994 really put a strain on the family, especially the children. “We were just obviously very disappointed with the verdict,” he added.
