Caitlyn Jenner is not here for comedian turned podcaster Joe Rogan or his transphobic comments about her.
During her sit down with TMZ Live on Wednesday, the Olympic gold medalist slammed Rogan, saying, “He’s a homophobic, transphobic a–. He calls my family, especially the girls, crazy b—hes and he does this all the time.”
Jenner’s disdain for Rogan stems from his 2016 standup special, Triggered, where he told a joke about Jenner’s transition and continuously referred to Jenner as “he.”
“You show me a man who’s lived with the Kardashians for 10 years who didn’t become a chick, and then we’ll have some data. I’ve got a close eye on Kanye West, and I don’t like what I’m seeing,” Rogan said during the standup. During last Friday’s episode of his podcast, he doubled down on what he said on stage four years ago.
“People were saying, ‘He was always a woman, he was born a woman.’ Maybe. Or maybe if you live with crazy b—-hes long enough, they f–king turn you into one. Maybe you go crazy,” the comedian said. He also went on to share his belief that efforts to get his show taken down are a part of a larger agenda.
“You realize that people are not looking at this objectively. They are activists, and they have this agenda, and the agenda is very ideologically driven that anybody who even thinks they might be trans should be trans, are trans, and the more trans people, the better.”
While Rogan’s comments are certainly offensive, not everyone feels that he committed any wrongdoing. Spotify‘s CEO Daniel Ek defended Rogan during an all-hands company meeting on Wednesday, despite many employees calling for the podcast to be removed from the streaming platform, which signed Rogan to a multi-million dollar deal earlier this year.
“In the case of Joe Rogan, a total of 10 meetings have been held with various groups and individuals to hear their respective concerns,” Ek said, according to three sources present during the meeting. “And some of them want Rogan removed because of things he’s said in the past.” Sources said that Ek went on to say, “Others have concerns specifically over a recent episode. And Joe Rogan and the episode in question have been reviewed extensively. The fact that we aren’t changing our position doesn’t mean we aren’t listening. It just means we made a different judgment call.”
While Rogan did secure a hefty bag with his Spotify deal, Jenner let it be known that the Kardashian money reaches much further than that of the outspoken host.
“Let’s get real here. My daughters have obviously done extremely well. They’re more famous. They have more money than he has. They have just about everything more than he has,” Jenner said. “He’s gotten his fame by putting other people down and making jokes about it. My family has done it through hard work. My girls have worked their tail off. They’ve been smart businesswomen. They are intelligent, they’re extraordinarily hardworking, and that’s how they’ve made their businesses and their fame.”
Rogan has not yet commented on Jenner’s interview.
