California Introduces $116 Million Covid-19 Vaccine Lottery

California announced its plans to give away $116 Million to incentivize people to get the COVID-19 vaccine before the planned reopenings in the state that begin in June.

Governor Gavin Newsom announced the vaccination incentives, which include a chance for ten residents to win $1.5 million just for getting the shot.

California will also offer residents who have already received the partial or full vaccine a chance to win prizes as well.

The state is set to reopen next month fully, and the announced giveaway is a push from Governor Newsom to get 70 percent of the state’s population vaccinated before June 15.

“We’re putting aside more resources than any other state in America, and we’re making available the largest prizes of any state in America for those that seek to get vaccinated,” Governor Newsom said.
