A California homeowner beat the brakes off a burglar who invaded their home last week.
Last week, a burglar entered a Ventura home while his accomplice waited inside a sports utility van that was parked in front of the home. At around 6 p.m., the homeowner returned to find the strange vehicle. He then went inside to see the second burglar stealing his belongings, who had was later identified as 43-year-old Alexis Provoste.
The incident took place on April Fools’ Day, and it looks like the joke was on the burglar because the punchline he caught was the homeowner’s fist. The robber took off running toward the van, but the homeowner held him until police arrived.
Fox News reports Provoste is set to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on April 5 for his arraignment. He was charged with first-degree residential burglary and conspiracy.
