After one month, a California man has stopped cooperating with investigators regarding his wife’s potential whereabouts.
Last seen on Jan. 7 in her home, Maya “May” Millete, a mother of three, mysteriously vanished just days before she was set to leave for a getaway for her daughter’s 11th birthday.
Her husband, Larry Millete, initially thought she had left home to get some alone time. “But as the days go by,” he told KSWB, “it’s very unlikely that that’s it because she wouldn’t be gone this long.”
On Friday, Maya’s family and friends held a rally at Chula Vista Police Department to increase awareness about her disappearance.
However, her husband, Larry, was not in attendance — shocking the rest of the family.
According to The New York Post, after acquiring a lawyer, he “is no longer answering their questions about her disappearance” and has “refrained from joining the search parties or public vigils held in honor of his wife.”
“I’m still very hopeful that with all this media coverage, she’ll turn up and say, ‘Hey, I’m okay,'” he said.
“I don’t really know what’s going on because there are so many questions unanswered,” Maya’s sister, Maricris Drouaillet, told reporters.
Chula Vista Police Chief Roxana Kennedy said on Friday how confident she is that Maya’s children meant the world to her, and the department is doing “everything we possibly can to come up with answers right now.”
“Her kids, they need their mom. Please, help us find my sister. Anyone out there, if you have any information at all, please help me, help us find my sister,” Drouaillet said at the rally on Friday.
Anyone with information regarding Maya’s disappearance is encouraged to contact the Chula Vista Police Department at 619-691-5139 or the San Diego Crime Stoppers tip line at 888-580-8477.

I think she’s still close by. Keep looking around the home.
