38-year-old, William Robert Cable, was arrested and is now facing numerous felony charges after poisoning eight homeless people on video. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last month in Huntington Beach, Cable provided the victims with food telling them they were partaking in a “spicy food challenge.” But, the food was not spicy, it was laced with a chemical twice as strong as pepper spray, oleoresin capsicum.

According to the prosecutors and reported by the New York Post, the substance derived from chilies, and after consumption, many suffered from “seizure-like symptoms, difficulty breathing and intense stomach pain.”
The LA Times reported that along with intense stomach pain, there were also reports of intense mouth pain. Many were hospitalized.
“These human beings were preyed upon because they are vulnerable,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement. “They were exploited and poisoned as part of a twisted form of entertainment, and their pain was recorded so that it could be relived by their attacker over and over again.”
Cable, who is facing up to 19 years and three months in jail, is being charged with “eight counts of poisoning and a count of inflicting injury on an elder adult — all felonies. He is also charged with eight misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and an infraction for consuming alcohol or smoking marijuana while driving,” according to the LA Times. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
His bail is set at $500,000, and according to public records, he has yet to enter a plea deal. Outside of using the footage for his own “twisted amusement,” there is no clear indication of what else he planned to do with the recordings.
