Some Californians are about to receive another COVID-19 stimulus check.
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise across the city and communities roll back into quarantine, California is gearing up to distribute its next round of stimulus checks to those who qualify.
According to Andrew LePage of the California Franchise Tax Board, eligible people could receive $500 to $1,100 checks. People who make less than $75,000 a year, have lived in California for most of the year, aren’t claimed as a dependent and filed taxes before Oct. 15, 2021, will more than likely receive their checks, LePage explained.
If people file together, they have to be bringing in an income that is less than $75,000. If you have dependents, a person could receive an extra $500. The gag is: if you already got the first Golden State Stimulus, you won’t be getting the second one.
“For example, if you qualify for GSS 2, and you did not get a Golden State Stimulus and you have one or more dependents, you would get $1,100 for Golden State Stimulus 2,” LePage explained.
Checks will start to go out at the end of August, ABC 7 Los Angeles reports.
