A set of adorable twins are celebrating their birthdays on a different day, month, and even year! In a rare occurrence, one twin was born in 2021 and another at midnight for the new year 2022.
Parents Fatima Madrigal and Robert Trujillo of Greenfield welcomed their son, Alfredo at 11:45 pm on New Year’s Eve while they welcomed their daughter, Aylin on News Year’s Day at midnight. The mother says, “It’s crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays,” she said. “I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight.”
Looks like the twins really will have an interesting story to share for their lifetime. Dr. Ana Abril Arias, a family doctor at the Natividad Medical Group even shared her historical delivery and how it has impacted her whole career.
She says, “This was definitely one of the most memorable deliveries of my career. It was an absolute pleasure to help these little ones arrive here safely in 2021 and 2022.”
People Magazine says, “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there are typically 120,000 twin births every year in the United States. The births make up just over 3 percent of all births, the organization states.”
Alfredo and Aylin are the youngest to three older siblings within the family. Congrats to the family on the most rare yet lovely additions!
