A woman in Los Angeles is suing the police department after she says she was abused by cops when they raided her home looking for her brother.
The unnamed woman said officers came through her door, handcuffed her, and dragged her outside naked on July 25, 2019. She claims she was in the shower when officers forced themselves inside her home.
“They tied me up, I was dragged across my grass, keep in mind, I was on my menstrual period,” the woman, identified as Jane Doe in a lawsuit, told NBC4’s I-Team. “I’m completely undressed, on my front yard.”
As a result, the woman is now suing the department, claiming the officers were negligent and violated her civil rights during the search. She says she now suffers from emotional stress.
According to the woman’s suit and subsequent interview, she says her younger sister recorded the encounter on her cell phone, and the video shows four officers inside the home ordering her to walk down the stairs naked.
“I’m telling him I’m not dressed and to wait a minute,” she said, adding that the deputy, “said no and opened the door.”
Cops told her they were looking for her brother, who was wanted in an assault case. But records show that her brother was being arrested at another location at the same time as the raid.
“They were looking for someone who wasn’t there,” the woman’s attorney Brian Dunn said, adding that there was no reason for cops to enter her home so aggressively. “There was too much aggression and not enough compassion.”
The Sheriff’s Department declined to comment on the incident.
“Due to pending litigation, the Department is unable to comment,” it said in a statement.
“I’m in complete shock that it happened,” the woman told NBC’s I-Team. “I feel as if they should be held accountable for their actions.”

I am so sorry this happened. It seems that with each passing year, these cops forget what it means to actually be a cop- protecting the community. How is one protecting the community by forcing a nude women out of her home. Mind you, she is not posing a threat and is not the person you are looking for. Despicable.
I hope she gets the justice she deserves and seeks counseling for any emotional distress.
