A California woman and her dog were the victims of a random act of violence.Â
On Thursday, Jeanne Ann Edgar was walking her dog in a Glendora park when suddenly she was approached by a “crazed man.”
Trying to protect her dog, Edgar, 66, was stabbed multiple times. She and her dog were pronounced dead at the scene.Â
According to witnesses, the attacker, identified as 23-year-old Ricardo Saldivar, was allegedly “waving a knife around in the area and yelling that he was going to kill someone,” according to witnesses.Â
According to People, “he reportedly approached someone else, who managed to run away, before attacking Edgar.”
Saldivar was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of murder and attempted murder charges. His bail is set at $2 million.Â
Saldivar’s motive remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
