Well, where is mine? Because inflation is happening all across the country, California residents have caught a bit of a break when it comes to the rise in goods and services. 23 million state residents are set to receive “inflation relief” checks.

Governor Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers reached a budget deal on Sunday that will send out $1,050 checks to nearly 23 million Californians.

The relief checks are part of a $17 billion relief package that will also suspend the state’s sales tax on diesel fuel as well as provide additional aid to give a helping hand to those with rent and utility bills, Newsom and Senate President Pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon confirmed in a statement.

The agreement comes as California drivers grapple with the highest gas prices in the country, which has reached an average price for a gallon of gas in the state at $6.32 as of Monday.

Earlier this year, Newsom proposed giving out stimulus checks of $400 per vehicle to California residents, however, there was a cap on two vehicles.

It was other lawmakers that pushed for a plan that would help out more for those who had lower incomes, CBS News reported.

Single taxpayers who earn less than $75,000 a year and couples who file together and make less than $150,000 a year will receive $350 per taxpayer. Those with dependents will receive an extra $350. So, a couple earning a combined $125,000 and has two children would receive a total of $1,050.

Higher-income residents also qualify. Single taxpayers who make over $75,000 but under $125,000 a year, as well as couples who earn between $150,000 and $250,000, and their dependents will receive $250, or a maximum of $750 per family.

Those that are single and earn between $125,000 and $250,000 and couples who earn between $250,000 and $500,000 a year would receive $200 each, plus the same amount for dependents. For a max payment of $600 per family.
