Cam Newton may be a father of eight, but the former football star says he isn’t done popping out babies just yet.
The 35-year-old revealed he wants more kids during a chat with People this week, though it’s unclear exactly how many.
“I don’t know, however much that God gives me. But jokingly, and not jokingly, they really give me my purpose,” he told the outlet. “They’re my peace. They’re my encouragement.”
Newton already shares four children with ex-girlfriend Kia Proctor—sons Chosen Sebastian, Camidas Swain, and Cashmere Saint, and daughter Sovereign-Dior Cambella—while also helping raise Proctor’s older daughter, Shakira. He has two children with photographer LaReina Shaw—son Caesar and Shaw’s older son, Jaden, from a previous relationship. In 2024, he welcomed a daughter with comedian Jasmin Brown.
The retired NFL star has recently been open about how having a child outside of his relationship with Proctor led to a disconnect with his oldest daughter.
“My dark side in my life was like I was in a long-term relationship and I had a child outside my relationship,” he admitted on “Special Forces.” “And my relationship with my oldest daughter has suffered. All she kept asking was, ‘Yo, why?’”
Newton and Brown appear to be going strong. Despite backlash from social media, the influencer has been open about how she is content with Newton having multiple baby mamas and children. While some have viewed her as a “pick-me,” for seemingly excusing what some deem to be toxic behavior, Brown is sticking beside her man and will likely be the one to give him more children in the years to come.
