Actress Cameron Diaz is finally ready to address the long-running rumor that a feud with Jamie Foxx caused her to quit acting.
As the tale originally went, Diaz decided to quit acting after working with Foxx on the set of “Back in Action.” Allegedly, Foxx was “making everything miserable” during filming, ultimately leading Diaz never to want to “make another movie again.” However, Diaz says this is entirely false.
“I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time,” Diaz said on Tuesday’s episode of Molly Sims’s “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast. “You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?'”
“Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He’s such a special person, and he’s so talented, so much fun,” Diaz shared.
Foxx has never commented on the gossip, but it was on that movie set that his mysterious medical emergency took place. It was rumored that he suffered a stroke, but Foxx has never revealed the specifics. Diaz and Glenn Close were both working on the film but have not shared what they witnessed regarding Foxx’s health.
“That’s something that is not my place to speak about,” Diaz stated before adding that her friend is “thriving” now.
Foxx’s medical condition led to Netflix’s “Back In Action” being pushed back. The film serves as Diaz’s first production since 2014.
