Rashard Mendenhall, a former Super Bowl-winning running back, recently shared his opinion on who should be authorized to comment on football.
The Illinois native, who was a first-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers, expressed his frustration on Twitter. He stated that he is “sick of average white guys” discussing the game and criticizing players. It’s worth noting that he didn’t aim his tweet at anyone in particular.

Mendenhall also mentioned that we should have a “race bowl.”
“Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with All-Black vs All-White Bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football? I’m better than ur goat,” he wrote.
Cam’ron and Mase caught wind of the tweet and expressed their opinions on their sports show, It Is What It Is.
Although the duo is highly knowledgeable, they haven’t come across Mendenhall’s career yet. Upon reading the tweet, Mase and Cam were initially going to let it go until they saw that the tweet claimed that Mendenhall was better than the GOAT, who is widely regarded as Tom Brady, the 8-time Super Bowl Champion quarterback.
“Can I have some more information… he played? You’re not better than my GOAT. You’re not better than Tom Brady,” Cam said in response to the tweet. “And right now look, top five football players right now, I don’t have an order or never put an order, but Christian McCaffrey is in there. You’re not better than Christian McCaffrey. You gotta stop with this man.”
It’s ironic that both McCaffrey and Mendenhall play the same position. They are both hybrid backs who excel at catching passes from the backfield. This skill has become increasingly valuable in today’s football. In 2009, Mendenhall caught the ball 25 times, gaining 261 yards and getting 13 first downs. He was a speedy back who would excel in a widespread offense if he were playing today. Mendenhall played four seasons with the Steelers and was part of the Super Bowl XLIII Championship team.
