A Canadian candy company is offering someone a handsome salary to taste candy all day.
Online treat retailer, Candy Funhouse, is looking to fill an open vacancy for their Chief Candy Officer position. The role pays 100,000 Canadian dollars, which is USD 78,000 yearly. The job includes several key duties, but the head taste tester is the most important.
What makes the job even sweeter is that it is work-from-home, even though the company is based out of Toronto. This gives the lucky employee the luxury of sitting home eating candy all day.
The position was posted on LinkedIn in July and has attracted thousands of applicants. Many employment seekers got creative with their pitch for the gig, recruiting family members for videos detailing how they’d share the tasting responsibilities. Chief Executive Officer Jamil Hejazi says the opportunity is sure to bring joy to whoever is chosen.
“Imagine your best memories around candy and having that every day at work,” Hejazi stated.
Candy Funhouse offers a wide range of snacks, including those that are not easy to find in stores, such as Blueberry Muffin Kit-Kats and Chubby Rock N’ Rolla Cola Soda. They also offer bulk treats for large events.
The company is not discriminating when it comes to age. Applicants as young as five-years-old are allowed to apply, though parental permission is required. Many parents have submitted videos of their children pitching themselves as the best candidates for the position.
Several social media reports claim that the person who is hired will have to eat 3,500 pieces of candy a month. However, Hejazi has refuted this.
The application will remain open until August 31st. Anyone interested may apply at: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3177227708.
