Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s sexy performance of “WAP” at the 63rd Grammy Awards on Sunday reignited conservative’s anger over the raunchy song.
Conservatives have taken issue since the song was released last summer. And Candace Owens, a vocal critic of the hit from the beginning, once again had something to say about it during her appearance on Fox News with Tucker Carlson on Monday.
Criticizing the recent controversy involving Dr. Seuss’s books, which conservatives feel has been hyped up, Carlson segued into Cardi’s Grammy performance. He called the criticism surrounding the books hypocritical if what Cardi B does can be referred to as art. Owens agrees.
“We are seeing the destruction of American values, American principals. It’s terrifying,” Owens told Carlson.
She added that it is “a weakening of American society.”
Cardi responded to a clip of Owens with Carlson, joking, “Yaaaayyyyyyy WE MADE FOX NEWS GUYS !!! Wap wap wap.”

In a follow-up tweet, Cardi B thanked Owens, who she nicknamed “Candy,” for putting her performance on Fox News.
“Matter fact I’m just going to thank Candy,” she wrote. “She put my performance on Fox News giving it more views that boosted the views on YouTube and is counting towards my streams and sales.”

The conservative figure responded to let Cardi know that she didn’t have any problem with her success but takes issue with the message she sends to young women.
I don’t work for Fox News, Belcalis, nor do I take issue with you having success.
I take issue with you being used to encourage young women to strip themselves of dignity.
Men typically treat women how they treat themselves.
You know that. https://t.co/1BZQOVTR6t— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) March 16, 2021
“I don’t know why candy is so bothered by WAP I was just inspired by our former First Lady” Cardi tweeted, bringing Melani Trump into the fold. “Anyways congrats on your new show I hope you speak more about WAP I need it to reach a new Audience to go 6x platinum. Any exposure will help .Love you candy STREAM UP.”

The back-and-forth spilled over to Instagram, with Owens going live to double down on her claims. She once again references the Dr. Suess controversy and calls the Grammy performance “degenerate.”
“The Grammy performance was degenerate,” she captioned the video. “Also, she’s about to get sued for lying publicly about my family so stay tuned as I legally rip her a new WAP. (Again).”
Owens refers to the tweet where Cardi calls out Owens’ husband for supposedly sleeping with her brother. She also accuses Cardi of fixating on the fact that her husband is white.
In the video, Owens says she initially rooted for Cardi B to make it and “be something” but instead became a “slave to culture.” It appears at this point that there is no end in sight to this beef.
