Cardi B is standing up for Will Smith following the salacious gay rumors that have surfaced about him.
Days ago, Cardi’s adversary, Tasha K, interviewed a former Smith employee named Brother Bilaal. The ex-staffer claims he walked into a dressing room to find Smith and his close friend Duane Martin having sexual intercourse. The story has run rampant online since the interview, and Cardi went live with several remarks about the outlandish gossip.
“I don’t like how I was fooled a couple weeks ago. Some people just never change,” Cardi said, referring to Tasha K. If you recall, Cardi declared last month that she would consider dropping her million-dollar defamation case against the YouTuber. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was awarded a $4 million judgment due to false statements made about her on Tasha K’s YouTube channel.
Cardi then addressed Smith’s mistreatment in the media, which she believes has been unwarranted.
“I don’t like what people be doing to Will Smith. I be feeling like Will Smith is very unproblematic, and I feel like he got like a nice heart,” she explained, adding that Smith being a libra like herself means that he typically withstands a lot, which could contribute to an “outburst.”
Jada Pinkett-Smith joined The Breakfast Club this week, where she revealed that the couple will be taking legal action against Bilaal for his false accusations. She says Bilaal’s spreading the gay rumors is part of a failed “shakedown” of the couple. The “I Am Legend” actor also released a statement refuting Bilaal’s account.
Tasha K has not yet responded to Cardi or the backlash surrounding the interview.
