After months of subtle rap jabs, slick comments and subliminal messages, the longstanding beef between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B has finally come to a head at a New York Fashion Week party.
The incident occurred on Friday at Harper Bazaar’s ICON party, after Cardi approached Nicki’s crew “to address the lies Nicki was spreading” about her.
Initially, reports claimed Cardi “aggressively approached [Nicki’s] table, said “Let me tell you something,” and lunged toward the self-proclaimed Barbie, but sources close to Cardi told a different story.
According to TMZ, Cardi’s camp said when she approached Nicki’s table, she was not looking for a fight, but things quickly took a turn for the worse.
In fact, Cardi’s crew believes Nicki’s security had a plan for if Cardi came anywhere near her, and they executed it upon her arrival, which left her with an elbow to a face.
Though the details remain unclear, video clips of the incident surfaced, which showed Cardi inviting Minaj to the fade, while Minaj’s friend, Rah Ali, attempted to retaliate.
Amid the melee, Cardi is also seen tossing her shoe toward the Queen’s bred rapper, as she hurled profanities over someone speaking on her daughter.
Afterward, Cardi was escorted out by security, sporting a forehead lump from security’s elbow. She then took to Instagram to explain her frustration, in her first public address to Minaj.
“I’ve let a lot of shit slide,” she said. “I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, fuck up the way I eat! You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f*cking with them! I let you talk big shit about me!! I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!! But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f*cking off!”
“I’ve worked hard and come too far to let anybody f*ck with my success,” she continued. “Bitches talk about all that sh*t in they raps but in real life are p*ssy.”
Though it remains unclear, fans believe Cardi was referring to a post Minaj liked about Cardi’s support of Kodak Black. But, many have questioned Minaj’s hypocrisy given her recent link with 6ix9ine. What do you think?
