Cardi B is over it and has officially logged off of social media.
‘Fans’ were upset over the rapper not attending the 2022 Grammys, which set the rapper off.
In the now-deleted tweets, Cardi said, “I’m deleting my Twitter, but oh God, I hate this f—in’ dumbass fan base.”
Another tweet said, “You got the slow dumbasses dragging my kids all cause y’all [thought] I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t? The f—?” she continued. “When the f— I hinted I was going? Just f—in stupid. I can’t. I need to protect myself.”
Fans were confused when Cardi was not at the awards show, and Cardi questioned when she ever gave the fans a hint that she would be attending the ceremony in the first place.
She wasn’t the only A-lister to miss the award ceremony this year. Celebrities like Kanye West, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and many others did not attend.
Cardi B continues, “When did I hype y’all up ? Where and when did I ever gave hints ? Like are you ok ? I’m not going to an award [show] if I don’t got a new song to perform or [if] my album ain’t out.”
She did hint that she may attend next year when tweeting, “Next year.”
On an Instagram live video, she addressed the blow up on Twitter. She claims she doesn’t have any new music, therefore, why would she go to the awards. She also said that fans knew where she was because she was posting from her home in NY.
“Why would I go to the awards for? Do I have any new music? Why would I show up with one nomination?” She also got upset that fans brought her children into the mix.
“That s— really piss the f— out of me,” she said. “If you bring up my son, I hate you. I wish the worst on you.” As she enters her third break from social media, she hasn’t commented anymore on the matter.
The 29-year-old rapper was nominated for Best Rap Performance at the awards ceremony.
