Cardi B has been unsuccessful in collecting her $3 million settlement from blogger Tasha K.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline, Tasha and her company, Kebe Studies, only have $1,083.02 in accounts.
However, this is a considerable difference in what is required to satisfy Cardi’s court judgment.
Several months after the courts ruled in her favor, Cardi started the collection process.
The Bronx-bred rapper sued Tasha K for defamation, claiming that the blogger started rumors that she had an STD, did drugs, and worked as an escort — among other things. Cardi received a total award of $1.25 million from the jury, which included $1 million in general damages and $250k for medical expenses. In addition, the rapper received $1.5 million in punitive damages and an additional $1.3 million to cover legal costs.
Tasha has appealed the ruling, which is currently pending. She claimed that any collection efforts should be suspended in light of the appeal.
However, a judge has yet to resolve the issue of whether the rapper has the right to use Tasha’s bank account to fund the appeal. But Cardi’s lawyers say they want Tasha to pay the judgment immediately or agree to a supersedeas bond, EUR WEB reports.
It was recently reported that Tasha K allegedly fled to Africa to escape paying the $3 Million settlement.
