While Cardi’s vodka-infused whipped cream may be doing well, her fashion dolls aren’t creating the same kind of buzz.
According to TMZ, the dolls have been canceled due to manufacturing and shipping delays caused by COVID-19. On top of that, Cardi wasn’t sure if the dolls would meet her high-quality standards.
Earlier this year, Cardi announced she was partnering up with Real Women Are, a fashion doll brand. Cardi shared the news on Instagram back in March and said the company was taking preorders. Each doll was going for roughly $35 a piece.
However, customers flooded the company’s Instagram account after the deadlines for shipping were missed. This prompted customers to believe the doll was a scam and demanded refunds.
A rep for Cardi says that she asked RWA to refund everyone who preordered the doll & the company obliged. She is also encouraging anyone who put in an order to request their refund immediately if they haven’t done so already.
