Cardi B covered Rolling Stone’s June 2024 edition and got real about life, fame, and her marriage.
The Bronx rapper, who has amassed a following through her transparency, made several stunning revelations to the outlet. One of the biggest ones was in regards to her complicated marriage to Offset. If you recall, Cardi admitted in December 2023 that the two had been separated for a while before going on an internet rant, accusing him of “doing her dirty.” Having been spotted out several times since this, Cardi told Rolling Stone they are doing “alright” and that “we have our own bad stuff.”Â
“We’re from two different worlds. Sometimes I cannot be … not that I cannot be a wife. It’s just like, my career takes my life. You know what I’m saying? My career comes first, then my kids come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I’m putting so many things before my relationship.”Â
The Grammy-Award winner also admitted in the interview that an internet troll recently brought her to tears. As we know, the former “Love & Hip-Hop” star stays tuned into social media, admittedly to her own detriment.Â
“Like yesterday, I was scrolling through TikTok, and a b***h made me cry,” she told Rolling Stone. “She was just like, ‘She has got to give it up. She’s better off being an influencer. You was cosplaying being a rapper. Because you don’t take it seriously. That’s why you don’t put out your music.'”Â
In one of the most surprising topics, Cardi called out President Joe Biden, whom she’d previously supported.  She even interviewed him in August 2020, ahead of his election victory. However, she now believes “people got betrayed.” She voiced her frustration with the U.S. spending billions on matters that don’t help the country’s people, such as the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. She echoed these sentiments in November 2023 when she confessed that she would not be voting for anyone in the upcoming election.Â
One topic that Cardi did not cover was the release date of her highly anticipated album, which is expected this year. She claims the hold-up has to do with her perfectionism, not a lack of music.Â
