Cardi B has spoken out about her ongoing issues with fellow rapper BIA, as their feud continues to intensify.
On Saturday, June 1, Cardi B took to Instagram Live to discuss her grievances with the 32-year-old rapper. She revealed that she had reached out to BIA by phone in an attempt to resolve their issues directly.
“The conversation started very nasty. It started very aggressive,” Cardi B admitted. “I was coming at her, and she was coming at me. But then I called her back because…I’m so appalled at the fact that she thinks I’m copying her, or stealing from her, ’cause there’s nothing that she does that I like. I don’t like her music, I don’t like her style…I don’t even see the bitch.”
Cardi then addressed the drama surrounding her verse on the remix of GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be,” where she rapped, “Guess I’m a teacher since you wanna sub me/ She did one had no idea, thought she was on the shelf IKEA/ Hope she talk like that when I see her/ Bitch please don’t nobody wanna be her (BIA).”
Despite the beef, Cardi jokingly encouraged fans to stream BIA’s music, saying the rapper needed to recoup her publishing. She also threatened to release their phone conversation, noting, “We ended the conversation very nicely, and you still went to the internet dissing me…After the conversation, you went and you started saying I copied your music video…Then you going around lying about my pussy to my man’s boys and shit. What?…When I called her on the phone, I wanted clarity, and that’s exactly what we got.”
Cardi also questioned BIA’s motives, suggesting jealousy played a role. “At first, when she kept dissing me…I was like, ‘damn, maybe she’s doing it for clout. You know, I’m Cardi B. Bitches gonna always look for clout when it comes to me. But when she started doing that rumor shit, it’s like ‘damn, it’s more than clout. It’s jealousy.’”
She concluded emphatically, saying, “I don’t wanna dress like you, I don’t wanna look like you, I don’t wanna rap like you, I don’t listen to your music, I don’t know what the fuck you be doing, bitch…You not interesting to me.”
In response, BIA went live on Instagram late Saturday night, where she previewed a diss track aimed at Cardi B. She raised the stakes by making cheating allegations and mentioning Cardi’s children, Wave and Kulture.
“Got a dark soul, got a bright future/Imma let her know I’m a sharp shooter/You ain’t nothin’ but a fuck girl, I see right through ya’,” BIA rapped over a beat reminiscent of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” “Put it on your gang that they ain’t fuck you in/Put it on your name since you so gangsta like yo fuckin’ friends/Put it on your hubby since you lying on your vows/I write all my verses, I can do this shit for hours.”
“’SUE ME’ ??? That’s not hip hop,” BIA captioned her post.
After hearing the “Wanna Be” remix on Friday, May 31, BIA promptly took to social media to address the perceived diss.
“BITCHES IS WACK. BITCHES IS TRASH,” she tweeted. “I SHOULD HANG BITCHES RIGHT OVER MY KNEE, THE WAY I BE PUTTIN MY BELT TO THEY ASSSSSSSS.”
She then posted a video from a battle rap scene, where one of the rappers was mocked by the audience after failing to impress, seemingly implying that Cardi B’s shots were less than impressive.
