Cardi B is owning up to some behind-the-scenes drama after finally dropping her latest single, “Outside.” The track, which leaked earlier this month, skyrocketed to No. 1 on U.S. Apple Music shortly after its official release on June 20th.

During a recent Instagram Live, Cardi B opened up about her reluctance to release the track and offered an apology to her label.
“I’m going to publicly apologize to Atlantic because I was being very bratty, very mean, very nasty,” she confessed. “’Cause I really didn’t want to drop the song. But they was like ‘No b***h, you’re gonna drop this f**king song.’ I was giving so much pushback, but we dropped it…And it’s going amazing.”
Before that, Cardi had expressed frustration with her label on Twitter, stating she was “being tried by these new people.” Her honesty now shows a turn toward transparency and appreciation as the song dominates streaming charts.
Meanwhile, speculation is swirling that “Outside” throws jabs at her estranged husband, Offset. However, Cardi doesn’t seem to be worrying about her ex, as she prepares for a new album with another hit under her belt.
