Cardi B is firing back at people criticizing her for not spending enough time with her newborn daughter. 

In recent days, Cardi has shared glimpses of her at her grandmother’s party and inside a nightclub. She also shut down Paris Fashion Week just days after giving birth. This has led critics to call out the rapper for not being a present mother, something Cardi vehemently denies. She took to social media to explain that she does spend quite a bit of time bonding with her daughter but admits she maintains her social life to prevent postpartum depression. 

“I be with me baby all day…I need to go out. I’m going through a divorce right now. If I stay home and f**kin’ depress myself, that s**t’s gonna drive me crazy. That’s why I’m working and the weekends, I’m going out with my girls, so stop. I don’t ever wanna go through a f**kin’ postpartum depression ever again, and I’m avoiding that,” she explained. 

People online have been hard on the “Bodak Yellow” star, especially with the handling of her split from her husband, Offset. She filed for divorce shortly before giving birth to her daughter, and in recent weeks, the pair have clashed online. He accused her of sleeping with another man during her pregnancy, while she has called him out numerous times for cheating. Despite this, he was present at her grandmother’s 86th birthday over the weekend.
