Cardi B may have got into something while attending Vanity Fair’s Oscars afterparty Sunday night.
While on an Instagram Live stream from the post-Oscars party, Cardi was captured on camera conversing with someone over the phone.
“I definitely ran into somebody,” she said. “You know me, I don’t play that sh*t. But I’ll call you later ‘cause I’m on Live. I’ll tell you all the tea on her later. Bye.”
The identity of the person Cardi was speaking to remains unclear. However, fans seem to think the rapper is referring to Saweetie, who was present at the same party.
Rumors of a Cardi B and Saweetie beef reportedly stem from as far back as 2022, sparked by speculation that Saweetie had been romantically involved with Cardi’s husband, Offset. The speculation gained traction with lyrics from Quavo, Offset’s Migos groupmate, in his song “Messy,” where he raps about a situation involving infidelity.
Fans speculated that the lyric referred to Saweetie, who had a public relationship with Quavo from 2019 to 2021. Nevertheless, Saweetie appeared to address the situation in her track “Don’t Say Nothin.”\
“Post a pic in his sweatshirt, I bet it have my ex hurt/ That’s what I get for kissin’ on these frogs/ He got mad and told my business to the blogs,” she rapped.
