Cardi B is well on her way to having one of her biggest years to date. As the Summer smash, “Bodak Yellow” reaches new heights on the Billboard 100 chart, peaking at No. 2, the Bronx rapper is one spot away from making history. ⠀⠀⠀
Over the weekend, radio hosts and fellow artists banned together to get “Bodak Yellow” to reach the #1 spot on the charts. If the rapper is able to secure the No.1 spot, she would become the first female rapper to hit the mark without a feature in 20 years. She would become second to none other than THE Lauryn Hill, who hit the mark back in 1998.
However, as it stands, the record has already become tied with Nicki Minaj’s ‘Anaconda’ as the highest charting solo female rap song of the decade. “Bodak Yellow” remains No. 1 on urban mainstream radio. It has peaked at #1 on Billboard Top 200 streaming charts, and the Bronx rapper leads the BET Hip Hop Awards with nine nominations, including “Best New Hip Hop Artist.”
With that being said, let’s get Cardi B to number one!
