With a hugely successful rookie year and a heartwarming pregnancy announcement, there’s not much to not love about #CardiB. However, there’s at least one person that has a bone to pick with the rapper. A $10 million bone.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to Cardi’s ex-manager, Klenord ”Shaft” Raphael, he’s responsible for much of the star’s recent success and he hasn’t been given what he’s owed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Raphael says he “conceived, arranged and orchestrated” her entire career after linking up with the then-dancer in 2015.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Raphael claims he’s not only responsible for showing #Cardi the ropes of the music industry but is also responsible for masterminding her role on #VH1’s hit series ”Love and Hip Hop.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image,” a representative of Raphael told Billboard. “While he is proud of their successful collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out of her career, which is detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his legal claims.”

Since then, Cardi, who recently released her freshman album # InvasionofPrivacy, has signed a management deal with Quality Control Music Group. The company is also home to the star’s fiancé #Offset along with the other members of the Migos.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, according to the suit filed by Raphael, Cardi’s contract with QC is invalid because of preexisting terms with his management company.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Raphael is seeking $10 million in damages in a suit that alleges breach of contract, unjust enrichment, declaratory judgment, and defamation.
