Thomar Latrell Simmons, the boyfriend of Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell, apparently deletes all photos of her from his social media following her discovery.
As of Wednesday, July 19th, Simmons has completely cleared his Instagram of all photos featuring Carlee. This action occurred merely three days after he had previously expressed his support for her when she returned home.
“I don’t even know how to start off this post but to only say thank you to my lord & savior Jesus Christ for saving my girlfriend’s life!” Simmons wrote in an Instagram post. “Also, thank you to everyone who shared a picture, came out to the Hoover Met to help us with the search parties & who went & proceeded to tell other people about Carlee to bring more awareness to her story.”
He added, “I know she would’ve done the same for me, so I wasn’t going to give up until I saw her face again! I was straight tunnel vision, even when I would get on social media on my downtime.”
After claiming she witnessed a toddler walking alone on the side of I-459 South near mile marker 11, Carlee went missing shortly after calling 911 to report the situation. Prior to her disappearance, she also contacted her brother’s girlfriend to inform her about the child she had seen. When contact with Carlee was lost, the concerned relative immediately contacted the authorities and informed them that she had heard screaming during their last conversation.
Just 48 hours after her disappearance, Carlee returned to her Alabama home. She later underwent evaluation at a hospital before going back to her residence. During the ongoing investigation, authorities disclosed that they could not find any evidence supporting the presence of a toddler walking alone on the highway on the night Carlee went missing.
According to the police, they have been unable to confirm most of Carlee’s initial statements to investigators. Despite this, they have emphasized that there is no indication of a threat to public safety related to this case.
