Last year, CarmeloAnthony scoffed at the idea of him coming off the bench for OKC, but after being traded to and waived by the Hawks, and now picked up by the Houston Rockets, the veteran baller is expected to take a backseat role in the Lone Star State.
“The Rockets are expected to bring Anthony off the bench this season,” said Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Although Anthony will compete for a starting position, reports say he may have to take the bench role. Back in April, after a less than favorable performance in Oklahoma City, the 15-year vet said a bench role was completely out of the question.
However, despite his initial reluctance, sources say Anthony may be on board with the decision, as it is expected to increase the baller’s production — especially behind new teammates Chris Paul and James Harden.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
News of Anthony’s new role leaked just as Anthony signed a one-year, $2.4 million deal to the Houston team. Now, Anthony will have, yet, another chance at a title run with his new All-Star teammates.
