As Carmelo Anthony prepares to kick off his 16th season in the NBA, the New York-bred baller is looking to put the offseason’s drama behind him – starting with the temporary restraining order filed against him by a woman he’d never met.
If you recall, in legal docs obtained by The Blast, a woman named Cheryl accused Anthony of stalking her and kidnapping her children. Problem is, Anthony said the two never met, as he called her allegations “very strange.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But now, the Rockets baller can officially put this issue to rest, as the restraining order has been dismissed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On Tuesday, according to the publication, Cheryl stood before the court, alongside Anthony’s legal team, to argue whether the order should be permanent. But, once Anthony’s team convinced the court that there was no domestic abuse or relationship, the judge dissolved the restraining order and dismissed the case altogether, with prejudice.
