Carmelo Anthony is taking a step into the podcast world.
The former NBA legend is partnering with The Kid Mero to co-host “7PM in Brooklyn,” an upcoming digital series and podcast scheduled for its debut on December 7th. This production is sponsored by Wave Sports + Entertainment, the company known for producing shows centered around athletes and sports, along with various digital and social media brands.
“We’re excited to welcome Melo and Mero to the WSE team. Melo’s iconic NBA status and Mero’s groundbreaking entertainment career makes them the most authentic duo to host 7PM in Brooklyn,” Tunde St. Matthew-Daniel, executive vp original content at Wave Sports + Entertainment, said. “It’s the best of both worlds and the perfect project to continue WSE’s mission of delivering industry-leading sports and culture shows to all fans.”
Anthony will additionally serve as an executive producer of the program through his company, Creative 7 Productions, alongside co-founder Asani Swann. “7PM in Brooklyn,” set to be available for streaming on YouTube and all major podcast platforms every Thursday, will showcase the hosts’ perspectives on basketball, Anthony’s illustrious 19-year NBA career, and contemporary developments in the realms of sports and culture.
“7PM in Brooklyn is not just a sports show; it’s an immersive journey that dives into the heart of the game and the rich culture that surrounds it,” Anthony said. “As co-host and executive producer, I’m looking forward to bringing a unique blend of storytelling to fans, merging our passion for sports and culture with our commitment to creating intentional, purpose-driven content.”
Nevertheless, Anthony and Swann will take on executive production duties for “7PM in Brooklyn” alongside Brian Verne, Mack Sovereign, St. Matthew-Daniel, EJ Wright, and Pierce Simpson from WSE.
