After weeks of speculation, the Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to ship Melo out of town via a three-team trade with the Atlanta Hawks and Philadelphia 76ers.
As a part the package deal, OKC will send Anthony along with Justin Anderson and a 2022 first-round pick to the Atlanta Hawks, in exchange the Thunder will receive Dennis Schroder and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, while the 76ers will receive Mike Muscala according to Yahoo Sports and ESPN.
Anthony is expected to be waived by the Hawks, which will make the All-Star Forward an unrestricted free agent.
The three-team trade follows the Thunder’s decision to end their partnership with Anthony comes as of a result of the team reducing their $310 million payroll and tax bill — which was the highest in league history.
