Two Brooklyn rappers went from firing shots on social media to actual shots fired in person. The New York Police Department is investigating the shooting that took place in Brooklyn last week, involving hip-hop artists, #Tekashi69 and #Casanova.
While the “Set Trippin” rapper, Casanova, was shooting a video last Thursday, 10 shots were fired and two of his associates were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The shooters are believed to be apart of the “Gummo” rapper, Tekashi 69’s, crew.
Both men, who are members of the Bloods street gang, have been trading insults and threats over social media for quite some time. After the shooting, Casanova responded on Instagram:

“Don’t make me hot,” He warned. “Why you doing that? You know damn well nobody ain’t shot at me, man. Everybody at the motherfucking video shoot was my motherfucking sons, nigga.”

Two days following the incident, another shooting between the two crews took place at the Barclays Center during the Adrien Broner and Jessie Vargas headlining fight. Police believe that a gun was fired by a member of Tekashi 69’s squad after the two crews got into a scuffle in a hallway at the arena venue.

There have been no reported injuries from the second run-in, but hopefully, things can settle down before anyone else gets hurt. We will keep you updated as details of the investigation become available.
