Casanova insists he is innocent despite being charged with attempted murder in the case against the alleged members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang.
In a message posted to his Instagram Story on Sunday the Brooklyn rapper, who turned himself in to police in December 2020, said there is evidence to confirm his innocence if “higher ups” would investigate his case further.
He wrote, “IF ONE OF THE HIGHER UPS REALLY MADE SOMEONE LOOK INTO MY CASE I WOULD BE HOME RIGHT NOW.”
In November, Casanova was charged with attempted murder, assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering, and other new assault/weapons charges, on top of existing racketeering and narcotics conspiracy charges.
Casanova had claimed a month before that the charges were baseless and that he was being “crucified” in court because of his criminal history.
“This is a public service announcement to all my fans and very important friends,” he wrote on Instagram in October. “I’ve been incarcerated for almost one year now, exhausted all remedies and spent a significant amount of money on legal fees to prove my innocence. The charges against me are false, they don’t represent or reflect the person that I am. They are simply using my past criminal history to crucify me in court.”
He continued, “I’m calling on all the great people with meaningful and powerful voices to help me with this matter. Any help provided will be a blessing, because I feel defeated one’s past shouldn’t be the reason why you can’t be afforded a successful future. No one should be held accountable for the crimes they have already served their time for, in legal terms that’s considered double jeopardy.”
Casanova is currently incarcerated at the Westchester County Jail in NY.
