When Jesus says yes, nobody can say no — not even a judge. Singer Keyshia Cole won’t be doing those 30 days of jail time
Remember last year when Keyshia snatched up a woman after finding her in Birdman’s house? At the time, it was recovered that Keyshia had a bench warrant from a 10+ year old DUI. Back in 2002 Keyshia was pulled over for a DUI. She was placed on probation and was required to attend an alcohol ed course. According to the court, they never received proof that she completed the course so a bench warrant was issued.
Keyshia originally tweeted fans that she’d be going away for 30 days but it appears that with a little faith and the help of a damn good lawyer, she won’t have to after all. Kesyhia’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, was in Santa Clarita court Monday, arguing that a 10-year-old bench warrant should not be enforced. According to Keyshia’s lawyer, not only did Keyshia complete the course but it was the previous judge’s mishandling of her paperwork and not informing the court that got Keyshia in this mess in the first place. He also points out that despite the program no longer having Keyshia’s records (who would, it’s been like 13 years), they must have at least informed the DMV because Keyshia has been issued 2 driver’s licenses in that time frame.
The judge was persuaded and the the warrant was recalled and probation terminated. Can you sue for wrongfully being on probation? Keyshia Cole should.
