On the fifth day of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial, jurors were presented with a heated 2014 audio recording of Cassie Ventura threatening a man she believed had footage of one of the alleged “Freak Off” encounters.
The moment came during Cassie’s fourth consecutive day of testimony as the prosecution’s key witness. She has detailed disturbing claims about being coerced into explicit group sex scenarios during her years-long relationship with the music mogul.
In the recording, Ventura is heard saying, “You’re lying about my f—ing life. I want to kill you, cut you up, and put you in the f—ing dirt.”
She testified that she believed a male escort had secretly recorded one of their encounters and that she had told Combs, who allegedly responded, “I’ll take care of it.” She said Combs was also concerned about any videos being released.
“I’m going to kill you, and then he’s gonna kill you again,” she added on the tape. “I’m not going to have blood on my hands. Tell me what the f— you are talking about. Be my brother and tell me what you saw.”
The defense played the audio during cross-examination, appearing to question Cassie’s state of mind and to paint her as an emotionally volatile ex. Still, the courtroom remained focused on the broader context of her testimony—allegations of control, abuse, and intimidation during her relationship with Combs.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Cassie’s testimony is expected to wrap by the end of the day.
