Cassie Ventura continued her testimony Friday in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial, recounting multiple instances where the music mogul allegedly took away her belongings during heated moments, including her phone and passport.
According to Ventura, Combs would often confiscate her possessions—especially when he suspected her of speaking to or dating other men.
“If I was with anyone else besides him,” she said in court, “I don’t know that I would call it cheating. When you’re not with somebody, it’s not cheating. We weren’t married.”
The court heard about several situations where Combs’ jealousy reportedly escalated. In one case, the defense asked Ventura about a 2013 incident where Combs allegedly took her phone after accusing her of dancing with Chris Brown.
“I don’t remember much about the incident,” she said, “besides the fact that I wasn’t dancing with Chris Brown.”
Ventura also described an August 2016 moment when she was dating someone new. The two were on their way to a doctor’s appointment when she unlocked her phone and Combs suddenly grabbed it and took off.
“I got home without my phone,” Ventura testified, adding that her mother ended up calling the police. She eventually got the phone back later that day.
During the time he had it, Ventura said Combs used her phone to call the NFL player she was seeing at the time, though the athlete wasn’t named in court.
She also confirmed that Combs would occasionally take other items, such as her passport or watch, when he was upset—usually linked to her dating history or suspicions around other men.
The trial is ongoing, with Ventura continuing to serve as a key witness in the prosecution’s case.
