In the wake of Sean “Diddy” Combs being found guilty on two federal counts related to prostitution, Cassie Ventura’s legal team responds.
Cassie, who filed a civil lawsuit against Combs back in November 2023, was one of the key figures in a high-profile case that has rocked both the entertainment industry and legal world. Although the jury cleared Combs of racketeering and the more serious sex trafficking charges, they did find him guilty of transporting women — including Cassie — across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
Cassie’s attorney, Douglas Wigdor, issued a statement after the verdict, crediting his client with sparking the entire legal battle. “This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint,” Wigdor said. He emphasized that while Combs wasn’t convicted of sex trafficking Cassie specifically, her testimony helped pave the way for his conviction on other serious charges.
“By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice,” he continued. He praised her strength and bravery, calling her a symbol of resilience and a force for change.
Wigdor also made it clear this is about more than one case — it’s about holding powerful men accountable. “She brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion.”
The attorney closed with a call to action, saying, “This case proved that change is long overdue, and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.”
