The federal trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs took an emotional turn Thursday as makeup artist Mylah Morales gave testimony about a night in 2010 when she says she saw Cassie Ventura visibly injured after an altercation with the music mogul.
Morales, who once worked with both Combs and Ventura, described a weekend during the Grammys where things allegedly went left. After attending a party at Prince’s house, she and Cassie returned to a hotel room. Morales said Diddy arrived later, looking for Ventura, and entered the bedroom where Cassie was. Moments later, Morales testified, she heard screaming.
According to Morales, Diddy eventually stormed out of the room. When she saw Cassie afterward, she described her as “distraught” with a swollen eye, busted lip, and knots on her head.
“I didn’t know what to do,” Morales said on the stand, adding that she took Cassie to her home for a few days of recovery. Morales said she brought in a doctor friend to examine the injuries. The doctor recommended Ventura go to the emergency room, but Cassie refused. Police were never contacted. Morales admitted she feared Combs and didn’t feel safe calling authorities.
Morales said she worked with Combs from 2000 to 2005 and later became Cassie’s personal makeup artist, working with her until 2021. “We were close. She was like a little sister to me,” Morales said.
