Caught In The Middle Between Friends

Loyalty goes a long way. It makes all the difference in a world of cold and selfish people. You know what the problem is with loyalty though? There is a such thing as too loyal, or loyal to a fault. Another problem is that there are people who get hurt by loyalty and sometimes you don’t choose the right side. That’s where this blog post comes in.

Say you have two friends, both friendships you value dearly. They both confide in you that they are in a relationship with a Baller. The problem is, they’re both in a relationship with the same Baller. Neither of these women know each other and they both have nothing but wonderful things to say about their new boo. Who does your loyalty lie with, if anyone at all. Is it your duty to speak up or do you leave the situation alone?

There’s a few ways to attack the situation.

Option #1: You can choose a side. This is where it gets tricky. Which friend do you tell “Hey, your man’s cheating on you”? How do you really choose? Some could say choose the one you feel closer to you. The one with a tighter bond. Some would say choose the one who you can tell feels more strongly for the Baller than the other. The one with serious intentions is likely to be the one who gets hurt the most if things go south. This makes you a great friend to one, but maybe not the greatest friend to another. In times like this it’s best to sit down and talk with each friends and see how serious she is and maybe even bring up the possibility of him hypotheticallyhaving a girl on the side. Ask her how she would feel. If she doesn’t care, neither should you, right?

Option #2: Tell both your friends. The honesty route is the best route….maybe. There’s never really a way of knowing which way this could go. Both women would appreciate your honesty, but what happens if they end up beefing with each other rather than the man who put them in this position? At first you had two friends dating the same man who didn’t know ANYTHING about each other, now you have two friends who are/were dating the same man who are now sworn enemies. You know how us women do.

Option #3: You tell him! Let the guy know the jig is up and you know he’s dating two of your friends at the same time. Let him know that you’re not pressuring him to choose, but to keep his tracks clean because there is only one degree of separation between his two boos and things can get real ugly.

Option #4: Obviously you can not say anything at all. Both girls know what they’re getting themselves into when they’re involved with Ballers. We’re all adults here. If the two don’t know each other, let alone know about each other the likelihood of you getting caught in between a bunch of mess is slim. If it just so happens that sh-t hits the fan, they’ll be more upset with him than they are at you. You can always lie and say you didn’t realize they were talking about the same person.
