The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has launched an investigation into an E. coli outbreak that has spread to seven states.
USA Today reports that CDC officials in Minnesota found E. coli in a package of Josie’s Organics Baby Spinach. The Josie’s spinach products in question have a “Best by” date of Oct. 23. The news outlet says the outbreak has impacted seven states, including Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, South Dakota, Iowa, and Michigan.
According to the CDC’s website, five people have gotten sick after reportedly eating spinach. One person said that specifically had Josie’s Organics.
Officials investigating the matter have no details on if any other products by the company have been reported. They urge consumers to throw out the contaminated spinach and wash any surfaces that it may have touched.
The company will be giving its Eats Pass subscription the boot in exchange for Uber One. Uber’s Eats Pass launched as the company’s first subscription back in 2018. Eats Pass members will automatically be upgraded to Uber One with their next billing cycle.
