Cemeteries For COVID Victims Being Dug in Greece As Country Enters Second Lockdown

Dozens of graves are being dug in Thessaloniki, Greece after a rise in COVID deaths. Greece is under a second lockdown after a spike in cases.

Greece has recorded 11,537 cases and 2,706 deaths.

“We didn’t encounter many cases in the first lockdown… There were very few cases (then) and it wasn’t every day. These days it’s daily,” Stavros Chatzivaritis, a funeral services provider. “There are between five and eight funerals, almost every day.”
