Nearly two years after his death, the family of actor Chadwick Boseman has now come to an amicable agreement regarding his estate.
According to recent court documents, Boseman’s $2.5 million estate will be split evenly between his parents Leroy and Carolyn Boseman, and his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward. The estate was originally valued at $3.8 million prior to the court costs.
In October 2020, Ledward requested to be the administrator of the estate. She is the one who asked that the money be split with her in-laws. Ledward and Boseman quietly tied the knot shortly before his death on August 28th, 2020, at age 43. The couple had been together for at least four years. They didn’t have any children together.
The court ruled that Ledward will also be reimbursed for the $47,000 she spent. This included funeral expenses, a mausoleum crypt at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, South Carolina, and mausoleum crypts for Boseman’s parents to be laid to rest next to their son once they pass away.
Some of Boseman’s other notable roles include his portrayal of baseball star Jackie Robinson in “42” and a stellar performance as James Brown in the 2014 film “Get On Up.”
