Chadwick Boseman was remembered with deep admiration and emotion at his posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony on Thursday.

Simone Ledward Boseman accepted the honor on behalf of her late husband, sharing intimate reflections on the man she loved and supported throughout their years together. She spoke with clarity and reverence as she described the depth of his influence on the people around him.
In life, Chad was more than an actor, or even an artist; he was a spiritual teacher, fortified by a family and close friends that kept him grounded in faith.” She added, “Chad taught all of us a great deal. His heart was so vast, he could give each and every person a specific part of him and still have so much left to share with the world.”

Coogler followed with his own moving remembrance. “The Black Panther” director spoke about Boseman’s humility and dedication, qualities he witnessed from their earliest casting sessions through the final days of filming.
Coogler shared that Boseman attended “every single audition and every single callback” during the creation of “Black Panther” and continued to give his time and energy generously even while managing his private battle with cancer. The director reflected on the rare honor of working with someone whose greatness elevated everyone around him.

“This is something that people who maybe played ice hockey with Wayne Gretzky can attest to, people who played basketball with Michael Jordan can attest to: there’s something special about being that close to somebody that great,” he said. “You realize how much you don’t measure up, but you also realize how much the human body is capable of. Chad showed that every day.”
Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” also stood in tribute to her former costar. Her presence underscored the respect and admiration he earned from some of the most accomplished performers of his generation.
