Fresh off his award-winning performance as the Black Panther in the record-breaking Marvel film, “Black Panther,” Chadwick Boseman is taking his talents to Netflix for a brand new Spike Lee Joint, “Da 5 Bloods.”
According to Variety, Spike Lee has teamed up with Boseman and Netflix for his next film, which will be his first directing gig for the streaming giant. With Boseman set to star, alongside “Malcolm X” star Delroy Lindo and “Alex Cross” actor Jean Reno, the film will follow Vietnam veterans who return to the jungle, seeking redemption.
In addition to directing, Lee will also co-write the film, based on the original screenplay by Danny Bilson and Paul DeMeo, and rewrite by Matthew Billingsly. But, sources say the film will not move forward until Lee’s Oscar campaign for “Blackkklansman” is finished, as the film, which was the filmmaker’s biggest domestic box office performer since 2006, landed six Oscar nominations.
