Chaka Khan is letting it be known that she is not here for working with Grammy-winning pop superstar Ariana Grande.
During an interview with comedian Luenell for VladTV, the funk legend was asked if she would ever consider performing with some of the acts of today. Luenell suggested “Thank You, Next” singer Ariana Grande, with whom Khan previously worked with on the 2019 record “Nobody” for the Charlie’s Angels soundtrack. This apparently did not sit well with the 67-year-old icon who abruptly said “F*ck her, she’s alright. She’s good on her own.”
The “Through The Wire” vocalist’s contempt did not stop at Grande. She said that she was not interested in sharing space with any other woman musically for any reason.
“She don’t need—plus, I don’t wanna sing with another woman. I ain’t got nothing to say with a woman. You say it by yourself. We ain’t gonna talk about no man. We not gon’ do none of that stuff. It’s not happening. I’m not gone do no song with no heffa.”
Based on Khan’s response, one can assume that something may have transpired between the two during their last collaboration. Grande has not addressed Khan’s comments.
