It’s officially over for Chance The Rapper and his wife Kirsten Corley.
Eight months after announcing their separation, Kirsten has now filed for divorce, marking the end of their five-year marriage.
According to TMZ, Kirsten filed the legal paperwork on Friday. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019 in Newport Beach, California, share two daughters—Kensli, 9, and Marli, 5.
The filing comes after in April the pair initially released a joint statement announcing their split.
“We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” they shared at the time. “God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together.”
Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, and Kirsten have a long history. The two met as children and later began dating in 2013. They welcomed their first child in 2015, briefly split in 2016, but reconciled later that year. By 2019, the couple married and soon welcomed their second daughter.
